History
Punakha Dzongkhag, Chubu Gewog, Nyinzergang‘s Khamsum Yulley Gyalwai temple cum stupa aka Nyizergang chorten can be reached on foot following the path that runs through the paddy field of Yebisa village. From Gewog centre towards the north, it is two and half hours drive.
Its construction in the form of a pagoda (zangdopelri) was prophesied by Duedjom Rimpoche Jigdrel Yeshey Dorji (1904-1987), Lama Sonam Zangpo (1888-1982) and Dilgo Khentse Rimpoche (1910-1991). Accordingly, in 1992(?) Her Majesty Azhi Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck patronaged the construction of this Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten cum temple purely intending for ushering peace on earth and particularly in Bhutan. Its exterior form is that of a stupa with the interior as a four-storied temple dedicated to wrathful gods. Its design and specifications were supervised by Bartsham Lama Kunzang Wangdi (1942-2018) aka Lama Nyingkhula. The main statue to ward off all evils and obstacles is the mandala of Vajra Kilaya. Today, it is being taken care of by the central monastic office which has appointed a Lam. The annual phurpai drubchen is conducted in the third month.
