History

Khoma lhakhang is a community lhakhang of Khoma under Lhuntse Dzongkhag. It was built by Lama Zhang from Zhamling, Tibet in the 15th century and is considered the oldest and most sacred. It has the statue of Lord Buddha in the centre flanked by Jampelyang and Chenrezig (collectively known as Choe Long Trul sum). It also has Tshepamey (Amitayus) among many others.
The ground floor is dedicated to the local deity Drakpa Gyeltshen and has his statue installed. An annual invocation ritual called Neypo Soelni is performed for two days on the 15th and 16th day of the 6th lunar month.

Khoma Lhakhang is located at a distance of 11.5 km away from Lhuntse Dzongkhag. The road goes above the Khoma cremation ground.
