History

Druk Wangditse Lhakhang
Druk Wangdue Tse (Zab-Doen-Lhuendrup-Tse) Lhakhang was built by 8th Desi, Druk Rabgay in the Wood Sheep Year 1715. It is located on the top of the hill. The main sacred relics are the two-storied statues of Lord Buddha and other statues. In the distance of 8 minutes’ walk, one can also find holy water. If one climbs upwards from the Dechen Phodrang Monastery School, it takes 30 minutes to reach the site. The Lhakhang was renovated by the Department of Culture under the patronage of Her Majesty the Queen Mother Ashi Tshering Yangden Wangchuck. It was inaugurated by His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, His Majesty the Druk Gyalpo, His Royal Highness The Gyalsey and the Members of the Royal Family on 5th February 2020.
