History

Dorjidhen Chorten in Yangnyer was built in 2008-2009, by the business community for the well being of all sentient beings and for the peace and prosperity in the country. It is located at a hill top of Changzoe village above gewog centre. It is believed that the structure is a replica of the actual Dorjidhen Chorten built in Bodhgaya, India, and it is equally believed that the merit acquired for visiting the site is also equivalent to that of visiting Bodhgaya itself. The stupa attracts local and regional, as well as global tourists with its elegant Architecture. This ancient monument highlights Buddhist culture, serving as a great place to wander around while enjoying the aura of the site. Today this chorten is visited by numerous locals and devotees to perform religious ceremonies and prayers.
